Placement and Pathways through CS Core Courses:

Depending upon where they are placed by CS Placement Co-Ordinator, students will take one of three pathways. Courses should be taken in numerical order because they build on earlier courses. One CS course should be taken each semester until the sequence is complete.

Students are placed in the CS program based upon ACT/SAT scores, high school or transfer college GPA, English/Composition grades, TOEFL/IELTS scores and other measures.

Depending upon placement, students begin their pathway through the CS program from one of three starting points:

CSEN 0990 College Reading and Writing

CSEN 1010 Reading and Writing Strategies

CSEN 1020 Argument and Research
